Walk for Peace
The world today is witnessing growing conflict, uncertainty and division. According to the Global Peace Index, global peacefulness has declined for twelve consecutive years, with nearly three out of every four countries becoming less peaceful than they were in 2008. At a time like this, the world needs more than conversations about peace – it needs visible expressions of our collective commitment to it.
For millennia, Bharat has offered the world a timeless message of peace, harmony and coexistence. Rooted in the philosophy of Vasudeva Kutumbakam - The World is One Family – our civilisation has long believed that lasting peace begins with understanding, compassion and mutual respect.
The Walk for Peace is an opportunity to renew this timeless message. It is a peaceful community walk that brings together people from every walk of life in a shared expression of unity, hope and collective responsibility. Walking side by side, we affirm a simple yet powerful belief – that peace begins with each one of us and grows stronger when we choose to walk together.

#IamPeace is scheduled for 20th September to commemorate the International Day of Peace (21st September) - joining a global observance initiated by the International Spiritual Council of Transforming Humanity (ISCTH) - dedicated to strengthening the ideals of peace, within and among all nations and peoples. On this day, Kolkata becomes Bharat's voice in that worldwide call, carried forward by countless citizens across the globe walking as one.
"Peace is the true nature of every being, and upon realising it, there is no internal struggle or resistance to expressing one's emotions. In peace, one experiences total acceptance, all-inclusiveness and total freedom."
~ Maitreya Dadashreeji
